To Resume

Kvetha Nates,

The king soon realized that his guards did not recognize him although he could recognize them. He took that opportunity to play a little joke on them. He began to speak, asking them why they were there.
The guards looked at the man closely and somehow knew that he was the king although he was speaking a language that they had never known before and had changed in appearance, but what really made them uneasy was the fact that they could understand him. This scared them and so they decided to inquire of him his name and why he was there. The Captain of the guard began to speak, all the others turned to him with new wonder even the stranger looked surprised. For in fact the Captain was speaking the language of the stranger.

Guesses

Kvetha Nates,

Sweat poured down the king's forehead. He gently touched the gem with eyes tightly shut. Nothing happened. He had guessed right. As he held the gem in his hands his guards began to arise from their unexpected sleep. The king had entered the room with his guards but as soon as he touched the gem not only did he fall into sleep but his guards as well. Standing on wobbly legs as if they were newly born colts the guards searched fearfully around them. They were searching for their king when they saw, standing next to a podium, a man (or what looked like a man) holding a very large gem. Afraid that the man had captured their king they approached the man and when the man turned around he began to laugh.

Comment

Kvetha Nates,

I received a comment on how this tale was preserved. When the king returned to his palace he had all of his scribes write down all that had happened so that nothing of that mysterious day would be forgotten. He also had a famous painter come to the palace and paint a portrait of the king. This portrait to this day hangs in the halls of that strong king. Later the king had a painting done of the mountain and the room that had changed his life forever. To this day the tale of the king is well known throughout the kingdom.

Surprises

Kvetha Nates,

The king was so surprised to hear this language uttered by himself that he started to say things just to hear the beautiful language. The king realized the value of the gem and decided to take it with him, but he soon remembered what happened when he touched it for the first time. This made the king very sad for he wanted so dearly for his people to be able to enjoy its beauty as well. Then the king thought of something that made all his misery vanish. What if, after he had touched the gem he could touch it again, but without the same effect? He decided to try it. His heart raced as he reached for the wondrous gem.

What happened later

Kvetha,

I hope that you are enjoying the story so far for there is much importance to this tale. And so I shall continue.

When the king awakened from his sleep he found that the gem had nearly doubled in size and when he arose he realized that he was taller, for in fact he was only five feet tall. He had grown to be approximately seven feet tall. When he realized this he searched his body for any other changes and soon learned that his sight was much enhanced even though he was in a dimly light room. He also learned that his hearing was more acute for he could hear birds chirping outside the mountain( and this was no mere act for the king was no less than one mile into the mountainside). His sense of smell was enhanced as well as his taste, he later observed. This made the king overjoyed. He started to sing of his happiness and when he opened his mouth to utter the first note he did not hear the usual English that he normally was used to but instead he heard a language that was strangely powerful yet at the same time soft and beautiful.

My Language

Kvetha Nates,

I received a comment on the language that I speak. The language I speak is called Yezkarthian. It is an ancient language that has been spoken since the beginning of my race.

Resuming the Tale

Kvetha Nates(friend),

To resume, the king went deep down into the tunnel and soon came to a room- note that I did not say cave- filled with gold and precious gems. This room was carved out of the stone so perfectly that you would never know that you were in a mountain. The walls were painted a deep red that resembled blood. The ceiling had a mural of a battle field. Soldiers fought tirelessly to defeat their foe, a single Fvazrath. Do not think that a single Fvazrath is not horrible for it is one of the worst things that you could ever have to fight. But back to the room, among all these trinkets and floods of color was a pedestal and on it was a gem like no other. The gem had the appearance of a diamond but the color of a ruby for that is what the king first thought it was. The king was so struck by the beauty of this stone that he relished the thought of having it embedded into his crown, but when the king laid his hand on the gem he saw a flash of light escape the gem. The king fell into unconsciousness.

Beginings

Kvetha,

You may be wondering how my people, the elves, came to this land of ours. I shall tell you if you are willing to learn.

In the land of Nevatherah a king ruled his people with care and wisdom. The people loved their king and would without hesitation die for him. One brilliant day the king decided to go and explore his kingdom. While on the excursion he stumbled across a range of mountains, now known as the Gorthae Mountains for they were named after that great leader. He traveled these mountains for miles and found a tunnel leading into the heart of the now called Gorthae Dunea (Peak Gorthae). To be continued....

Kvetha (Greetings) to you all.

Hello Everyone,
